Fishing on The Léguer and The Trieux
Our region is ideal for migratory fish. Brown trout and wild salmon are the emblematic species to be found in the Léguer and the Trieux. All sorts of techniques can be used. Natural bait or toc fishing, casting and of course fly-fishing will help you catch a variety of wild fish.
The Léguer, a ‘Wild River’ !
In 2017, the Léguer obtained the distinction of being awarded the European ‘Rivières Sauvages’’ Wild Rivers label in recognition of its natural and unspoilt qualities. It also launched a trial unique in France - ‘no-kill’ salmon fishing on a large part of the river. Any fisherman who wishes to adhere to the principal agrees to return the fish to the water. Sustainable, high quality fishing!

An area dedicated to nature and relaxation has been created for you, on the site of a former dam. Here you’ll find picnic tables, benches and shelters from the rain, with nearby activities for all the family: hiking, treasure hunts, nature activities and an interpretative nature trail, all in keeping with the tranquility and beauty of the site.
The brown trout fishing venue of Milin Kerhé is in the commune of Pabu. The Trieux is equally well-known for salmon fishing in springtime.
Parcours Découverte - for beginners
The beginners’ fishing trail for brown trout is in the commune of Belle-Isle-en-Terre on the Léguer river. This stretch is suitable for all, but particularly for beginners. Here you’ll find wild fish like brown trout. The technique used here is line fishing, catch and release.
Parcours Familles - for families
The Étang de la Verte Vallée lake in Callac is on the Guervilly river, on the border between the Côtes d’Armor and Finistère. This is a small ‘second category’ reservoir, home to a thriving population of pike, perch and carp. Lovers of pole fishing can also try their hand at tench and roach. The site is easily accessible, just a stone’s throw from the town centre, yet it remains both wild and peaceful. Not far from the lake, the Vallée de l’Hyères will delight wild trout enthusiasts.
