It’s a beautiful trail that departs from Loguivy-de-la-mer, borders the Trieux and its enchanted landscapes, then ends at the Lézardrieux bridge.
Leave behind the wonderful panorama on the Bréhat archipelago to admire the equally beautiful landscape of the Trieux estuary. Discover a stretch of the GR34 on the Goëlo side, remarkable for its tranquility, beauty and migratory birds that find refuge in the mudflats along the river.
Wind along the Trieux and contemplate the magnificent scenery.
The 8-kilometre hike of about 2 hours 15 minutes is one-way. It begins at Loguivy-de-la-mer, a beautiful and authentic small fishing village where fishermen from Ploubazlanec come to work. The latter town is known for its famous Croix des veuves or Widow’s Cross, erected in the memory of those lost at sea.
Then, a breathtaking view of the Bréhat archipelago, leading to the Roche aux Oiseaux, a stone nestled in the estuary and a great vantage point over the Trieux. Take advantage of this peaceful moment to take beautiful photos.
Rapidly, you’ll find yourself walking along the GR34 to arrive at the estuary of the 75 km-long river.
The route continues to l’Allée couverte de Mélus. It’s a place well worth the visit and the remnant of a funerary monument erected at the end of the Neolithic era.
In addition to the GR34 that offers a magnificent view over the Trieux, the Chapelle de Kergrist, a few kilometres away, is also a monument worth visiting. It was built in granite in the 17th century and used as a daymark (landmark for navigation) for sailors.
Finally, complete the circuit by reaching the Lédano cove, with its very beautiful vantage point over the Lézardrieux bridge and the Trieux, and finish up directly on the bridge !
