The king of shellfish, the famous ‘Loguivy blue’ is the authentic Breton lobster, recognisable by its beautiful colour. Fishermen have always used lobster pots to catch this gourmet’s delight.

The season runs from June to December, when baited pots are strung together in groups known as filières and placed close to rocky areas. They are lifted every two days. The lobster must not be less than 5 years of age (carapace measuring a minimum of 87 mm).

Where to find the Loguivy-de-la-Mer blue lobster ?

From June to October the lobster is available at all local fishmongers who get their catch directly from the fishermen !

Chef’s tip

The simplest way to prepare lobster is to cook it in boiling water for 7 minutes and leave to cool for 3 minutes. Then crack the shell.
