Explore the Argoat, its unspoiled countryside and the small villages of Plésidy, Kerpert, Saint Adrien and Kerien.

The new trail circuits of the Argoat are composed of six countryside routes along the streams, on the path of the menhirs and onto the discovery of its chapels. In the heart of nature.
Get away from the coast and discover the Côtes-d’Armor’s countryside
This summer, live a complete change of scenery and delicious moments by roaming these unsuspected hilly territories : Plésidy, Kerpert, Saint Adrien and Kerien. A real breath of fresh, country air ! Those varied paths that allow you to immerse yourself completely in nature are accessible to all. Visitors can roam the territory in several stages. The circuits are made for a wide range of people, from trail runners to hikers.
In Plésidy, 13km on the trail of the menhirs
On the programme : a nice circuit, 13.36 km long with an elevation gain of 226 metres, that starts in the centre of Plésidy, near the Chapelle Saint-Yves built in the 16th century.
The walk begins in the small village, then quickly continues right into the countryside. Very quickly, you will find yourself staring at the impressing menhir de Kailouan. It is one of the highest megaliths in Europe, with a height of 7.40 metres. Presumably located next to a « table de dolmen », it dates back to the Neolithic period (approximately 4000 years BC).
Then, 1.5 km farther on, the menhir de Toul-Dû, dating from the same period, has withstood the ravages of time. It is admittedly less high, but its environment is particularly enjoyable : on the banks of the Touldu river, under the trees, no trail runners or hikers are left indifferent.
At this stage, you have arrived at the best part of the circuit : the part between the 7th and 8th kilometres, that runs alongside the Touldu, and lets you hear the stream, making the trail even more pleasant. At the 8th kilometre, you will be able to spot the Chapelle Ste-Anne located right in the countryside, next to a farmhouse.
Up to the 13th and last kilometre, the hilly route takes you through the fields and small country roads. You will then finally reach the lovely Chapelle de la Trinité built at the top of a hill in the 18th century and still open to the public. You can also find a calvary nearby that was constructed in the 16th century following a plague epidemic.
Kerpert, Kerien and Saint-Adrien…
- Plésidy has a freshly marked circuit, just like Kerpert, Saint-Adrien and Kérien. New trails to discover Argoat’s hinterland, inland Brittany and its unsuspected treasures.
- Kerpert offers two circuits of sunken paths : the first is 6.87 km long with 175 metres of elevation gain, and the second is 15.62 km long with 420 metres of elevation gain for most adventurous. They both have a similar route that crosses the Trieux twice. The 15 km trail suggests an additional loop, leading to the Cistercian abbey of Coat Mallouen. It was founded in 1142 by the Cistercian order and the Breton sovereigns and is now a place of artistic creation, hosting a contemporary art gallery and open-air exhibitions. The abbey’s ruins were listed Monument historique in 1964 and the façade that survived the challenges of time gives an idea of the magnitude of the buildings when they were at their peak.
- In Kerien, two other circuits with small sunken paths have been freshly marked. The first is 21.16 km long with an elevation gain of 250 metres, and the second is 27.02 km long and with an ascent of 420 metres, that invites hikers to venture onto the most complex route recently laid out.
- Finally, a 10.29 km trail of 212 metres of elevation gain starts at Saint-Adrien. The lovely walk goes down into the valley of the Trieux and along the river banks for four kilometres or so, going down from the Coat Maudez site to the Moulin des Forges between the 7th and the 9th kilometre.
